MOVING WITH OTHERS - NOTICING PATTERNS: Movement & Communication Workshop

Date: 1st-2nd March 2025  

Location: Wootton Fitzpaine, West Dorset ​​

Movement exploration can offer an alternative lens through which to become aware of our attitudes and the patterns in the ways we communicate with others.
Positioned on the shifting threshold of our inner and outer landscapes, we move with each other; sometimes giving more value to our inner worlds, sometimes fascinated by the world outside and by other people.
“I would describe Move into Life as an immersion in movement which awakens patterns of behaviour but also reveals new ways of being in the world through contact with myself, others and the environment.”
Themes and questions for the workshop:
  • Does the wind have borders?
  • When does a frame become a boundary?
  • And how can I recognise when I am crossing over a threshold and making contact with another being so that I can take responsibility for my part in the process?

  •  Do I yearn to be more visible but refuse to be seen?
  • Or am I utterly satisfied by standing in the light at dusk, preferring to remain invisible?

  • Do I initiate dialogue or do I wait to be fetched?
  • When challenged, do I insist or drop away?
  • Do I avoid situations/people or do I explore how I can move to make less the discomfort?
  • Do I listen?
  • Am I in monologue or dialogue with the world?

  • Can I be present and embodied in my choices?
  • What does satisfaction look like in movement?
     
Through movement we can practice both how we  follow our own line in movement and how to move in resonance with others.

Acknowledging how we mutually influence each other  and witnessing how moment by moment we co-create the situations and the patterns that we find ourselves in, blame begins to drop away.. 

This workshop cultivates spontaneous awareness and aware spontaneity in movement with others, while always respecting context.

No previous experience of Move into Life work is needed for this workshop.

Hours: 10am - 5pm each day (1 hour for lunch) APPROX
Venue: Wootton Fitzpaine Village Hall, West Dorset, DT6 6NF

Your deposit can be transferred to another workshop within 12 months if you have to cancel. If the workshop is cancelled for any reason, your payment will be refunded in full.
