Me , You, Us , Them: Patterns of life

This workshop is to investigate how you position yourself in relation to others in your environment.

It is an opportunity to reconsider those words ‘me, you, us, them’ through noticing those patterns in your movement that keep you within a certain furrow of action and reaction and to work out how to ‘widen the field’ so that you can move towards a condition of gently informed choice and response in your communication with others.

The two Movement & Communication workshops this year have specific themes. You can attend either or both. If you attend both I will suggest an ongoing practice for the 2 months between workshops, which has been a useful focus in previous years.
By following physical sensations in movement , you will be guided to explore and become aware of:
  • How you embody communication - the shape, flow, structure, habits and patterns of your movement when you are with others.
  • Possible variations -how you could embody it differently.
  • Presence in the changing being and in the changing situation.
  • Ways in which you can 'read' group situations through movement.
  • a kinaesthetic awareness of the group dynamics.
  • How you respond to others and how they respond to you.
  • Flexibility and adaptation to the moment.
  • Amplification.
  • How you approach and leave, engage with or avoid other people.
Hours: 10am - 5pm each day (1 hour for lunch) APPROX
Venue: Wootton Fitzpaine Village Hall, West Dorset, DT6 6NF
