Movement in Time ~ 30th April – 2nd May 2016
What interests you about time?
Here are some practical details:
Workspaces: (Click the postcodes for a map).
Westhay garden and an indoor room DT6 6SD
Charmouth Village Hall (the home of Charmouth Cherubs) DT6 6QT (not to be confused with Charmouth Community Hall on Lower Sea Lane)
Wootton Fitzpaine Village Hall DT6 6ND
Schedule:
Saturday April 30th 10.00 am Opening Meeting at Westhay
Monday 2nd May 4.00 pm Closing Movement at Westhay
We are working with the theme of time…
It is for you to create your own journey through these 3 days and there is no obligation to attend anything. You can also drop in for a day or half-day. Everyone will be welcome to offer a movement piece/session/activity/theme if they feel like it or if something arises.
We'll mainly use the Open Space approach (familiar to Project Group members and used at La Bartra - but more details here if you would like them) to create the weekend programme. We'll do this on the Saturday morning through moving together (but there will be opportunities at other times to add sessions.)
Andrew has created a skeleton Programmepage for the three venues (+ an 'other' venue for anyone who wants to be on the beach, at Coney Castle, etc) and this will be updated online at the weekend so you can check what's happening where. There will also be an advanced laser display-board at Westhay with the same information in real time.
I'll send you all a focus question around time just before the weekend.
There may be multiple things happening at any one time and the three venues should allow for this.
I envisage Sunday evening as the one time that we might all come together for a meal and anything else people would like to share.
Who's coming
(If you want to tell Andrew (email him at [email protected]) when you're coming and where you're staying and when you're leaving, he'll put this on the Peoplepage. But it's not compulsory.
Food
Please take care of your own picnic lunch each day so that you can eat and drink when you are hungry wherever you are. There will be teas, coffee and milk at each of the halls and at Westhay.
Saturday evening
We will provide a shared evening meal at Westhay for those who would like to come:
Wild Garlic Pesto and Pasta with Salad
A Pudding… and Fruit
(Please tell Andrew (email him at [email protected] - not any of the other email addresses that he doesn't answer) in advance if you would like to come, so we can plan for numbers - but last minute changes are also fine. Please bring your own wheat free alternative to the pasta and/or cheese/nut-free alternative to the pesto as necessary.)
Sunday evening
This meal is planned as the main communal event of the weekend, in the garden with a bonfire, (weather permitting.) We would like to share the work on this and ask you to bring a contribution. Please take a look at what food others are bringing and bring something complementary. Andrew has created a, currently rather bare, foodpage . Please let him know ([email protected]) what you're bringing so that he can update the page and we can create a meal together.
Parking
If you are happy to park at the top in Stonebarrow Car Park and to walk down (10 minutes) that is fantastic. We can always offer you a lift back up. If you do not have a National Trust sticker you will need to pay at the machine (£2/day). PLEASE don't leave any valuables in your car. We have room for around 4 cars at Westhay so let Andrew know ([email protected]) if you would like to reserve one of those spaces. He has created a Carpage which you can check for extraordinary updates.
There is free parking at Wootton Fitzpaine Village Hall and near Charmouth Village Hall.
Mobile phones
Send Andrew ([email protected]) your mobile phone number if you're happy for it to be on the Peoplepage for the weekend and the week leading up to it. Thereafter it will be sold to a PPI company. UPDATE: This page now also includes details of who's coming, where they're staying and when they're arriving/leaving.
Costs: I'd like to share expenses (e.g. hall bookings - approx £10.00 per person.) There will also be a donation box to collect money for refugees.
