The Move into Life Project Group
Performance Programme - September 2020
13th and 14th September – Movement-Based Events
This is the fifth time, over the past 9 years, that the Move into Life Project group has offered a weekend of indoor and outdoor events and performances. These are movement-based events that have been co-created by committed participants over the last year. Each group member begins with a movement-based project that they long to materialise and, over the year, they support each other to make that project a reality. The group meets every 10 weeks or so to try out ideas, locations, scores and themes and the rest of the time they work on their own, or meet informally to witness each other’s process and to give honest and productive feedback. Plans change, projects evolve, disintegrate, reform and it is all held respectfully by the temporary ‘community’ of the group. All our attention is given to supporting the creative process of the others without losing the thread of our own project. Each participant consciously engages with the others’ projects through the lens of their own work and often we have been amazed by the resonances that appear over time between very disparate projects. In September each project is shared with a wider public audience. This year, since March we have been working together on Zoom, with all its challenges, as our shared environment. As a result, we see the work we are sharing this year very much as ‘threads’ of projects still in evolution, as ‘snowflakes’ rather than as finished ‘products’, and we invite you to join us from that point of view. |
