The Move into Life Training Group with Sandra Reeve CLOSING DATE FOR BOOKINGS: 31st May 2023
Wootton Fitzpaine, West Dorset ~ November 2023 - November 2024 If Move into Life movement practice is a vital part of your life and personal practice and if you have found yourself including elements of this way of working into your own professional work with others, or would like to do so - then this course is for you!
Ideally you will have participated at least once in each of the Move into Life Cycle workshops: Body in Movement, Movement & Communication, Environmental Movement and Strata: Autobiographical Movement.
Rather than focusing on your own personal movement practice, the emphasis of this course will be on how to bring movement awareness to others, individually and in a small group ~ as a therapist, teacher, performer or in some other sharing role. I shall not be teaching you to become ‘Move into Life’ teachers but I shall be guiding you to work with others through movement as an integrated part of your own work and in a way which is compatible with your own particular skills and preferences. There will be a strong emphasis on the skills of embodied witnessing and guiding through movement.
There will be a certificate of attendance at the end of the training course, validating the work that you have done with me and, once agreed, you will be able to pass on what you have studied with me in whatever way feels right for you. If you would like to affiliate yourself with Move into Life practice, you will be welcome to do so, joining an active group of colleagues.
It will be a strong commitment for the year, both to the development of your own integrated practice and to the others in the group.

Guidelines for practice between modules
Between workshops you will be asked to practice what you have learnt with other people to crystallise your training. I suggest that you find the people you would like to work with before the course starts. The guidelines below are the required minimum – you can, of course, do more!
Body in Movement - A total of twelve 1-hour sessions: six with one person, three with another and three with a third person.
Movement & Communication - A total of three 1-hour sessions, each with a small group of three people (these people can change from session to session or remain the same group) OR If you prefer to work with a couple, a minimum of three sessions with the same couple. AND A half-day session (3 hours) for a group of at least 5 people (who can be the same as the people before)
Environmental Movement - Some individual work in the environment. You decide how many people and how many sessions per person, according to context A small group in the environment for half a day ( minimum 4 people) (3 hours)
Before Autobiographical Movement, a review of all the work you have done and an assessment of what you have most enjoyed about your own work and which areas you feel you would most like to develop. Identifying a theme to bring to Autobiographical Movement.
After Autobiographical Movement (between July and end of September) - A meeting with colleagues to practise together, in small groups or as a whole group. Format to be decided by you, but likely to involve committing to one weekend over the summer.
Autobiographical Movement - After this workshop, each of you will be invited to set up a single day session of your choice, working with a group , or with a number of individuals, which I attend and witness, so that I can offer some feedback to you. By then you may have decided that you would like to co-run a session with a colleague in the group, or work on your own. I am open to whatever format is most useful for you. There will need to be some co-operation on dates to minimise my travelling! This session needs to happen between the beginning of October and mid November.
Logbook - Keeping a logbook throughout: of your personal learning and also of all the sessions that you offer to others, focusing on what you learn each time about your approach, your movement, the movement of your participants and the atmosphere of the event itself
Individual sessions with me will be available throughout the year, live and on Zoom at a reduced rate.
Accommodation: It may be possible to book reasonably priced self-catering accommodation when shared by 3 /4 people, in Wootton Fitzpaine or Charmouth, for all the courses in advance, once I know how many people will need accommodation.
Application: This training is by application, as numbers are limited. Please let me know briefly why you would like to participate, what interests you in particular, how much work you have done with me, and in which professional situations you might imagine sharing this work with others? Of course, it could be that you wish to do the training for your own interest and personal development, which is also fine as long as you are prepared to follow the guidelines above around guiding sessions for others.
