February 2016

C 6th - 7th February, 2016 ~ Wootton Fitzpaine, West Dorset
Body in Movement with Sandra Reeve

Body in Movement is an introduction to Move into Life work. The practice starts from everyday movements: walking, sitting, standing, crawling, lying down, in all sorts of different ways.

For most of us, our daily movement is something we never notice. Yet our bodies and our movement store memories and habits that affect and condition our whole lives. This workshop gives you a chance to pay attention to the way you move and to identify ways you might move differently. During the weekend you will be guided:
  • to become more aware of the physical structure of your living body in movement
  • to notice how it creates sequences and rhythms as it moves through space.
  • to appreciate the relationship between spontaneity and awareness in/through movement
  • to recognise how our movement and attitude are intimately connected.
Body awareness, an expanded movement vocabulary, witnessing skills and the basics required to embody personal process through movement develop during this module.  We work indoors

“There is a clarity and simplicity in Sandra Reeve's teaching that enables even the most desk- and mind-bound of participants to leave behind any habitual sense of physical awkwardness and explore their body in space like a three-year old.”

March 2016

C 5th - 6th March, 2016 ~ Wootton Fitzpaine, West Dorset
Movement and Communication with Sandra Reeve
Mindsets in Movement

Through movement we can become aware in a gentle way of our patterns of habit - our mindsets and 'bodysets' - and the ‘lenses’ that condition how we see ourselves, others and the world. These patterns of habit and these lenses create familiar patterns of movement that underlie everything we do.

This workshop explores how we can cultivate choice through movement, exploring different patterns of movement, different relationships to time and space, to density and to flow.

Energy, dynamics and relationships are largely invisible - but still enormously important - processes. Here we work to make those invisible communication dynamics visible through movement, without losing an awareness of context, so that we can shine a light on our motives, intentions and tendencies in communication with others.

In this workshop we pay attention to the shifting threshold of our inner and outer landscapes, and we move alone and with each other; sometimes giving more value to our inner worlds, sometimes fascinated by the world outside and by other people.

“I would describe Move into Life as an immersion in movement which awakens patterns of behaviour but also reveals new ways of being in the world through contact with myself, others and the environment.”

23rd - 24th April, 2016 ~ Wootton Fitzpaine, West Dorset
Eco Supervision with Therese O'Driscoll

A weekend workshop for new and established supervisors working with therapists, counsellors and coaches in any field

Ecological awareness provides a helpful lens to explore how all systems -- including families, organisations and society at large -- are interrelating with one another and with the 'individual'.

Therese combines this systemic approach with her experience of working as a supervisor through the body moving. This is what she calls Eco Supervision - a tool for transformational learning and reflective practice.

Therese O'Driscoll is a psychotherapist, supervisor and movement practitioner working in the North West of Ireland. She has incorporated the principles and dynamics of Move into Life work into her therapy and supervision practice for many years.  In 2014 as part of her Masters in Supervisory Practice she received the Michael Carroll award for her portfolio on Eco Supervision which explores working in supervision through the body moving and in conversation with the animate world.

For further details see the workshop page.

Environmental Movement with Sandra Reeve
Blue Moon, Grey Cliffs, White Waves

Breathing, tasting the wind, touching sand, crawling
Finger pointing, muscles stretch, feet push
Moving at the water’s edge, touching the sky.
Moving in the moon-light.
My life mirrored through movement.

Witness your changing patterns as you interweave your moving body with the sand, the clay, the rocks and the sea. Become kinaesthetically aware of the influence and impact of context on your life movement.
There will be a night-time movement session under the blue moon.

This workshop includes an introduction to specific environmental movement dynamics, which can be used as training tools for outdoor and immersive movement skills: active/passive, proportions, transition/position and point-line-angle.

Open to all. For further details see the workshop page.

You can combine this 3-day Blue Moon: Environmental Movement workshop with the Strata: Autobiographical Movement workshop below. There is a reduced price of £350.00 for both workshops if you decide to do both  and book before 25th March.

To book a place on both workshops, click here.

Autobiographical Movement with Sandra Reeve
Strata on Stonebarrow

Strata is a workshop for anyone wanting a sustained period of time to attend to their own movement practice as a resource for professional and personal development.

This five-day workshop is a chance to work creatively with a personal theme and to work with transformation through movement and transformation as a release from conditionings, which permits fresh choices rather than compulsive behaviours.

Autobiographical movement widens our awareness and experience of the fact that the way we move is how we are ~ and that by changing the way we move, we can change our habits.

"The degree of stimulus and the depth of reflective-ness I am left with after the completion of the workshop is testimony to the exquisite quality and richness of the work. I can sincerely say I find this work transformational."

Ecological Movement with Sandra Reeve
Ecological Body

This workshop begins from a sense of the collective. As moving, adaptive beings we study our relationship to change through movement in a wild garden and by the sea, through the lenses of niche, pattern, and emergence. Incorporating autobiographical elements from the Strata workshop and awareness of our surroundings from environmental movement, this week cultivates growth and creativity within community.

As the week progresses we also choose whether to move from daily life, healing, sacred or performance sense. The week finishes with shared individual and small group movement pieces to crystallise each person’s experience within the group.

Some movement experience is needed on this workshop. Please call if you are new to this work.

Project Group

The Project Group is a one year movement-based course which is facilitated and guided by me but very much self-directed by the participants.

It offers you the opportunity to bring into life a creative project. It may be a project you'd love to materialise but have never got round to: film, performance, writing, music, photography, interdisciplinary, research, workshop/educational, daily life practice. Or, like several people in previous years, you may have no idea yet what shape it would take.
