Be Outside: An Introduction to Environmental Movement ~ June 2014
With Sandra Reeve

Picture
Moving from a sense of longing to a sense of belonging.

Dates: 7th-8th June, 2014
Location: Charmouth, West Dorset
Open to all

How does your movement change when you go from a room to the woods, to the rocks or to the sea - when the sky becomes your roof and the uneven terrain your ground?

Can you perceive your movement as part of the shifting patterns of movement in nature?  Your breath meets the wind, your muscles meet the sand and your bones shape new forms with the trees.

Move with your elemental, embodied self in time with the rhythms of land and weather.

Through simple activities and movement scores and you will become aware of:

  • a sense of scale or proportion in motion
  • cycles of activity and receptivity in movement
  • staying and going; going within staying and staying within going
  • the relationship between movement and seeing
  • point, line, and angle and ecological perception
  • moving from touch, moving from hearing/listening and sounds
  • your rhythms in movement in the environment
  • balance and off-balance

Cost: £95 for the two days (excluding accommodation).

Earlybird: Save £10 if you book and send your deposit before 30th April 2014.

Accommodation:  I can often book low cost, comfortable, self-catering accommodation for people. Let me know very soon if you are interested.
