Cross-Currents: Movement and Communication (Workshop 2)

This is the second of two Movement and Communication workshops running over two weekends in February and March. 

I strongly encourage you to come to both weekends if you can - as the time in between becomes invaluable practice time. [If you can only attend this one and would like to come, please check with me first.]

This second workshop will be a chance to play with patterns that have emerged over the month apart and to revisit different aspects of communication work. Becoming aware of habits, accepting them through play and then having the time to try out new choices, challenging the grip of compulsion through movement. 

Through movement and physical sensation, you will be guided to explore and become aware of:
  • How you embody communication - the shape, flow, structure, habits and patterns of your movement when you are with others
  • How you could embody it differently
  • How you respond to others and how they respond to you
  • How you approach and leave, engage with or avoid other people
  • How your beliefs and assumptions shape your movement
  • How best you can enter the space that is 'unknown'

Moving like this saves my sanity, and also gives me a chance to focus on my all round health and aspirations for the long term. 

In this busy world I feel I am better off if I can understand myself and how I interact with others, so that I have more choices and flexibility in how I live and work, or at least in my attitudes to them. Ultimately this gives me more freedom and enjoyment, and also more friendships and better relationships with people I want to know and even those I would prefer not to but can’t avoid!”
